How to Generate Sitemaps for Blogger/Website

A sitemap is required for helping the search engine robot crawlers to easily crawl pages in your site which helps in the better index.

Each blogger blogs site has an XML sitemap which is automatically created by your blog once your blog has been fully setup for publish, which in-turn keep updating your new blog posts(urls lists) as soon as they’re published.

For allowing Google and other search engine's crawl and index all of your posts in your site you need to use multiple sitemaps and submit them property properly in Google webmastertools and other search engin'e’ webmaster site.

Blogger’s Default Sitemap:

Recently the Blogger site has updated its default sitemap for blogs. Every Blogger blog now has a proper XML sitemap. The sitemap is now like this;

http://javmittai.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml

Or for a top level custom domain in Blogger;

http://www.javmittai.com/sitemap.xml

*IMPORTANT* Replace http://www.javmittai.blogspot.com with your blog’s URL.

Generate Sitemaps for Blogger Blogs or Custom Domains:
Before generating sitemaps for your Blogger first check how many number of posts published in your blog.Post could be below 26, over 50,100,500.
Now our generated sitemap look like this:-

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

Now you have created the sitemap for blogger Copy the above code for future use and it is required to submit them in Google webmasters,Bing,Yahoo webmasters.

How to Submit Blogger Sitemaps to Google Webmasters: 1.Go to Google Webmasters Click Here.

You will see a list of all your added blogs and website property’s that you have linked to google webmasters.

2.Choose your blog else add you blog newly top right corner ADD PROPERTY.

3.Now look sidebar menus on left side,go to Crawls > Sitemaps.

• On the top right corner click the ‘ADD/TEST SITEMAP‘ red button.

In the opened popup box with empty blankspace, paste your sitemap (without your blog’s URL as it’s given) and click “Submit Sitemap“.Repeat this step for remaining sitemaps until you have finished submitting all the sitemaps that you generated.

Again do remember for each 500 posts, add a new sitemap, without deleting the previous ones. Google usually takes 1-3 days to crawl site and index the links submitted by sitemaps depending on the number of posts on your blog.If you face any problems feel free to comment,We will help you.
